Acupuncture works to help maintain your body's equilibrium. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points or areas on the body which stimulate receptors in the brain and promote a natural healing response by improving blood flow and oxygen. Traditional acupuncture can be an effective therapy to restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony. Treatment is aimed at the root cause of your condition as well as your main symptoms.

Balance Method and Distal Acupuncture.

"What is different about this style of treatment?" The definition of distal is - situated away from the centre of the body or point of attachment. This means we treat another part of the body to balance the original problem. For example needles are inserted in the hands and arms to address back pain. The idea sounds very strange at first, but think of it as a light switch turning on a lightbulb elsewhere in the room. It's a similar concept, and it works! In many cases we can expect a change in symptoms immediately using this method.
